Wow, it has been a long time since a post! I am a bit embarrassed to find that my last post was more than 6 months ago. Yikes :)
Though I have to say in my defense it has been a busy year. A lot has happened, including buying a house in Redmond, adjusting to life on the eastside, and becoming pregnant with baby Payne #2! So for those of you who have been having Jonathan withdrawal (because really that is why you look here right? :) ), I've decided to give you a few photo recaps from the past year. Then hopefully (haha we shall see with a little one the way) I will be motivated to to stay more on top of things (well at least with this blog).
Summer 2011
Summer 2011 was a fun time filled with:
Hiking! Jonathan loves to hike, which works out well for us since we love it too. I mean what toddler boy doesn't love playing in the dirt and with rocks, turning over logs looking for bugs, and running through the forest?

| We were so proud of Jonathan running up this huge hill. You should see how big it is! |
Baseball! I grew up going to baseball games with my dad and sibs, so it was nice to share a Seattle Mariner game with Jonathan. Don't know if I'll ever convert from O's to Mariners, but it was still fun to catch some baseball.
Derby Days! We moved to Redmond at the end of the summer (for those not from around here, that's east of Seattle, hometown of Microsoft). One of their town annual events is Derby Days; there is a parade, activities for the kids, and lots of fun. Redmond is considered the "Bicycle Capital of the Northwest" (who decides that?) and bike trails, bike routes are everywhere. So it is very fitting that the parade is led by the neighborhood kids on their decorated bicycles. Love the small town feel of it :)
Camping! Jonathan loved camping. He keeps asking to do it again!
To be continued! Next entry Fall 2011
Trains! Not too far from where we live is Snoqualmie Train Depot where you can ride the train through the forest to the waterfall. Very beautiful.

Berry Picking! The soil and air, not to mention all the rain, out here in western Washington are great for growing berries. So we did a lot of blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry picking that summer. We are so spoiled, the blackberries grow out here like weeds--we just have to walk outside and there are bushes everywhere. No $4.99 for a tiny container of sour berries for us, always free, always sweet :)
